From 31st August to 4th September from Sant’Elia a Pianisi to San Giovanni Rotondo
Rediscover faith through the ancient streets of the sheep tracks. With this intent from 31 August to 4 September is the usual pilgrimage to the horse in honor of St. Pius now in its 18th edition. The route is different each year so as to touch more and different countries. This year we chose to cross the crater seismic countries. The departure is scheduled for Wednesday, August 31, at 8 rally in the town of town of St. Elias in Pianisi. Sunday, September 4th procession on horseback to get to San Giovanni Rotondo with the statue of Padre Pio and the churchyard with the horses, then the blessing, the accommodation of horses in a special area adjacent to the church and the Mass in honor of the pilgrimage.
