Blessed by pope Benedetto XVI, it will be venerated in the San Giovanni Rotondo Shrine
Yesterday the new statue of Santa Maria delle Grazie has arrived in San Giovanni Rotondo, after the holy blessing last Wednesday by pope Benedetto XVI in piazza San Pietro. From May to October, the statue of Santa Maria delle Grazie – the virgin loved by Saint Pio – will be used during the procession every Saturday evening.
